I Noticed this song whilst searching again for greek music for our friends tavern.
Of the “new” music I found, this was the only one touching me deeply with its melody, now that I know the lyrics its touching me even deeper.
I collected already about 20 versions (starting with Parios), but I love most the Version from ’49 by the Chatzidakis ladies.
